Squash String Price Rises

As many of you will know I only make a profit of £12 every time I string a racquet. £12 is the amount I charge even if you supply your own string. So all of my prices are pretty much the £12 fee plus what it has cost me to purchase the string. I have tried to keep my prices as competitive as possible with local sports shops and other stringers however I was quite shocked when I placed an order for three packs of squash string recently as the cost of each pack of string when you factor in VAT and postage and packing worked out to be £15 per set (this was for the popular Ashaway UltraNick and MultiNick strings). Up until now I have been charging £24 per racquet restring in these strings and obviously, sadly, I cannot absorb the price rise and so this needs to be increased to £27 in order for me to cover the cost of the string and still receive my £12 stringing fee. You will note from my squash stringing page that I have continued to keep existing stocks of string at the lower price (to reflect the price I actually paid for those strings). So for example I am still charging only £24 for a restring in Ashaway PowerNick string as I purchased a reel of that string before the price rises which keeps the cost down and therefore it is possible for me to keep that price for the time being. However once that reel of string has been used up and I need to replace it then unfortunately my price for restrings in that string will also have to rise to reflect the increased cost I will pay for it in future. I have of course compared my prices with other local stringing services and found that even my new prices are below those of my competition (please feel free to check yourself). I'm sorry that I have had no choice but to increase these prices but I can assure you that whenever you see an increase in a stringing price on my website it is due to the ever-increasing costs to myself of purchasing the strings that I stock.
I would like to thank all of my customers for their loyalty and understanding when it comes to pricing.
Now that the summer season is underway I look forward to seeing more of my tennis customers in addition to my regular badminton and squash customers.
I am currently working on a new website and I shall publish a blog about this soon.
Remember: your racquet is only as good as your most recent restring!
